Phase 1: On-campus in Dunedin (180 points)

You will undertake 12 core papers of 15 points each, a live case study and a set of extra curricular activities as follows:

  4. Economics (BMBA 505)
  5. Human Resource Management (BMBA 506)
  6. Accounting (BMBA 507)

  8. Strategic Planning for International Markets (BMBA 509)
  9. Leading Sustainable Enterprises (BMBA 510)
  10. Operational Excellence (BMBA 511)
  11. International Business (BMBA 512)
  12. Strategy Implementation (BMBA 513)

Terms 4-6: Live Case Study

Terms 1-6:

  • Professional Development Programme

  • Guest speakers, networking and social events
     

Phase 2: INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE, ELECTIVE SPECIALISATIONS or a BUSINESS PROJECT (60 points):

You can choose to complete Phase 2 through international exchange, on-campus semester, summer electives, a business project or a combination of these. Schedule and location depend on your choice.

1. International Exchange (EXCH000): there is a list of about 20 world renowned universities in US, Europe or Asia you can choose from.

2. Otago Semester Electives (Mar - Oct) (BMBA550): If you choose to stay on campus, you can choose from one of the following elective options run by the University of Otago Business School:

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Advanced Management
  • Marketing
  • Tourism
  • Healthcare Management
  • Entrepreneurship

3. Otago Summer Electives (Jan - Feb) (BMBA550):

  • Marketing
  • Entrepreneurship

OR

4. MBA Business Project (BUSI 540) 60 points

  • Major in-company consultancy project
  • Can be undertaken anywhere in the world
  • At least 3 months full-time effort
